Haiti - Petit-Goâve : 3 bandits killed, a police officer injured

Monday April 5, 2021 around 11:00 a.m. police officers from the Petit-Goâve police station carried out an intervention against armed individuals who ransomed and terrorized peasants in Dépalice, a locality of the 11th Communal Section...

During the exchange of fire between these individuals and the police, one of the thugs was killed and the others managed to escape. During the shooting, Police Officer Renel Sanon, an officer 3 was wounded in the head and rushed to Port-au-Prince.

According to some information, the failure of the intervention was caused by a lack of means of transport. The Petit-Goâve police station would not have a vehicle available, its two vehicles have been broken down for several days...

That same day in the afternoon, during a second intervention carried out by agents of the Departmental Unit for the Maintenance of Order (UDMO) accompanied by some police officers from the city police station and a municipal police officer, two suspected bandits, Max alias "Ti Ernest" (son of Rozalème) and Ernst were lynched and their bodies burned by the population of Dépalice "We dismantled a gang which was going to settle in Dépalice under the command of a man named Brillant," said area houngan Colbert Godart.

Last minute : Police officer Renel Sanon injured in the morning is out of danger, said Police Commissioner Charles Maunaude.
