It is not known if a ransom was paid. The kidnappers are still holding Normalis Paul's wife and son hostage.
Spain supports elections in Haiti

Work monitoring and announcement at Baie Dumels
Accompanied by the President of the Republic HE Mr. Jovenel Moïse, Minister Nader Joiséus went, this Friday, April 23, 2021, to Baie Dumels, 2nd communal section of St-Jean du Sud. The opportunity for the delegation to visit the construction works of the Quai du Sud located in the Bonhomme area. In addition, Minister Joiséus announced the immediate start of rehabilitation work on the section of road, estimated at 8km, leading to this important economic infrastructure. Finally, the delegation visited the city center. Similar operations will be carried out in downtown St Louis du Sud, in the La Saline area, Minister Joiséus promised.
