Haiti - Canada : Niagara Falls will be illuminated with the colors of Haiti
The Embassy of Haiti in Canada announces to the public in general and to the Haitian community in particular that the city of Niagara Falls has declared May 18, 2021 "Haiti Day", in tribute to the 218th anniversary of the Haitian flag.

On this occasion, the City of Niagara Falls will raise the bicolour Haitian flag during the day. In the evening, Niagara Falls will be illuminated in the colours of Haiti, blue and red.

It is important to note that, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, access to the Niagara Falls site is regulated based on current health measures at the national, provincial and local levels. A livecam link has been created by the Niagara Falls Illumination Board so that the public can view the illumination of the falls while staying safe at home

The Embassy of Haiti in Canada takes this opportunity to express the gratitude of the Haitian people to the municipal authorities of Niagara Falls, especially to the mayor, the Honorable Jim Diodati, and to the Niagara Falls Illumination Board for having responded positively to the request of Ambassador Weibert Arthus. This is the first time that the Republic of Haiti will receive such a tribute from the city of Niagara Falls, one of the most beautiful wonders in the world. This initiative is a testament to the very strong bonds of solidarity and friendship that forever unite Canada and Haiti.
