Haiti - Politic : Revision of the ratification Commission of PM ?

Last week, five senators wrote to the President of the SenateRodolphe Joazile, asking him to reform the Commission composed of nine members in charge to study the documents of Prime Minister-designate, [Lucas François Sainvil, Nènel Cassy, Yvon Buissereth, Wencesclass Lambert, Edwin Zenny, Francisco Dalacruz, Jean-Baptiste Bien-Aimé, Jean William Jeanty (President of the Commission) and Jean Willy Jean-Baptiste], because of the partiality of some of its members. Following this letter the President of the Senate declared :

"...effectively Friday, I received a letter signed by five Senators [Willy Jean Baptiste, Francisco Delacruz, Edwin Zenny, Michel Clerié et Youri Latortue] who explain to me that among the Senators who are in the Commission that will study the file of Me Bernard Gousse, there are five who have made a judgment [publicly] on Me Gousse, they said they will not vote for him [Lucas François Sainvil, Wencesclass Lambert, Yvon Buissereth, Nènel Cassy, Jean Baptiste Bien Aimé].

We must make two considerations, the first is that the Senate is a political assembly, [...] on this basis the Senators are not allowed to give their opinion on an issue on which they will vote [...] the second is that the study of the documents is technical, so it is on this basis, that the Senator should vote the ratification [or not] of the Prime Minister.

We do not believe that this will disturb the issue, when the Senators say that they will not vote for Me Bernard Gousse. The fact is that five senators have requested to rethink the Commission. It's not us who have thought the Commission, but the Assembly, then at the next meeting on Tuesday evening, we will introduce the letter before the Assembly and it will decide to keep or remove these five Senators.

Today, the configuration of the Senate shows that there are two groups of Senators, a group that says he will not vote Me Gousse and the other said they will vote for, so remove those who say that will not vote and replace them with those who will vote for, is extremely difficult [...]

This is not me, as President of the Senate, that will decide if they should stay or not [...] the Assembly will have to decide. It is necessary to appeal to the wisdom of the Senators, who know that as a Senator of the Republic they must take a step back and even beyond their belief, their ideology, we speak of the country, [...]

They must address this issue as a man of State, as a woman of State and not let their emotions and their sensitivity to lead..."
