Haiti - FLASH : Carnage in Delmas 32, at least 15 dead, the PNH accuses «Fantôme 509»

On Wednesday during a press briefing, Leon Charles the Director General ai of the National Police of Haiti (PNH), explained that according to the first information gathered by investigators of the National Police of Haiti (PNH) a rally was planned at the occasion of the anniversary of the death of police officer Luckson Bateau assassinated in July 2020, in the same area. In the afternoon of Tuesday at around 3:00 a.m. Guerby Geffrard (35), spokesperson for the SPNH17 Union, was fatally injured in Delmas 32 by shooting from two unidentified individuals riding a motorbike. Urgently rushed to Bernard Mevs Hospital, he succumbed to his injuries

According to Leon Charles, following the assassination of Guerby Geffrard, his allies, member of the "Fantôme 509" Group, killing around fifteen citizens including the journalist Diego Charles (Radio Télé Vision 2000) and the feminist activist, Marie Antoinette Duclaire, each shot dead with several bullets by individuals traveling by motorbike, in front of his residence, street Acacia, not far from Christ Roi while they were aboard Marie Antoinette Duclaire's vehicle. "The PNH presents its sympathies to the family of journalist Diego Charles and to all the other victims."

The accusations made by Léon Charles on the responsibility of the "Fantôme 509" Group have given rise to numerous comments from journalists and civil society organizations, who doubt the veracity of this version...

On Wednesday June 30, the Prime Minister a.i, Claude Joseph, chaired a special Superior Council of the National Police (CSPN) around the killing that occurred on the night of June 29, 2021 in Delmas 32 and Christ the King. The first elements of the investigation carried out by the National Police revealed that it would be a terrorist attack perpetrated by the organization "Fantôme 509" said the Prime Minister

This CSPN instructed the PNH to deepen the investigation and take all necessary measures to suppress these terrorist acts, prevent their repetition and restore security throughout the country.
