As part of the youth consultation on the Francophonie of the future, young people from the Francophone world made their voices heard. In response to the wishes expressed by young people to work to strengthen environmental awareness, policies and actions, the International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF) has decided to set up a transversal initiative entitled "Youth and the environment".

As such, the Francophonie Institute for Sustainable Development (IFDD) of the OIF, launched a call for projects to support 115 youth initiatives in favor of the environment and sustainable development in Haiti with financial support of the Delegation of the European Union in Haiti.

The deployment of this initiative will be phased and will gradually be based on pilot actions that can inspire and consolidate approaches for young people in favor of the environment.

Implemented by a multidisciplinary team made up of the IFDD, the Youth, Sport and Citizenship Unit (UJSC) and the Planning and Evaluation Department (DPE) with the support of the External Representation of the OIF in the Caribbean and Latin America (REPCAL), this call for projects with a global envelope of 300,000 Euros will aim to support 115 concrete projects of an amount ranging from 500 to 10,000 Euros in favor of the environment and sustainable development, designed and implemented by and for young people in Haiti.

Support for 10 youth organizations committed to environmental protection and sustainable development in Haiti for a total amount of 100,000 Euros.

Support for 100 innovative self-entrepreneurship projects in favor of environmental protection and sustainable development for a total amount of 150,000 euros

Support from 5 media for the dissemination of content in favor of citizenship, the environment and sustainable development in Haiti for a total amount of 50,000 euros.

The financial system will be supplemented by technical support measures for the selected beneficiaries.
