Haiti - USA : No American military assistance for the moment...

Following Haiti's request to Washington on Wednesday to send military aid to Haiti https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-34193-haiti-flash-the-government-requests-the-sending-of-american-soldiers-to-the-country.html to ensure, among other things, the security of strategic infrastructures (ports, airports, power stations, oil terminals etc...) and to avoid chaos, an official of the American administration declared that there was "[...] no plans to provide US military assistance [in Haiti] at this time"
A similar request, also dated Wednesday, was sent to the UN office in Haiti. Jose Luis Diaz, Spokesman for the UN Department of Political Affairs and Peacebuilding in Haiti confirms that Haiti's request has been received and that it was under review .
