Haiti - Diplomacy : The Ambassador of Haiti met with the Committee on Foreign Relations of the US Senate

On Monday, Ambassador of Haiti to Washington DC Bocchit Edmond, on behalf of Prime Minister ai Claude Joseph, met with members of the US Senate Foreign Relations Committee to update them on the situation in Haiti and the actions that the Haitian authorities take to hold those responsible to account and maintain peace and stability.

During his briefing, he underscored the support Haiti has requested from the United States to ensure justice is done, including by imposing sanctions under the Global Magnitsky Act on all those responsible for the assassination of the President Moïse https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-34216-haiti-news-zapping.html

He also reiterated how the Haitian National Police (PNH) would benefit from technical support and training to ensure security following the assassination of the President and to combat the continued violence linked to gangs across the country.

He thanked the members of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee for their messages of condolence to the family of President Moïse and to the Haitian people during this period and for their willingness to support Haiti and to engage constructively on the challenges facing our Nation is facing.
