Haiti - Politic : Marie-Laurence J. Lassègue goes

The Minister of Culture and Communication, Marie-Laurence Jocelyn Lassègue has decided to not continue to liquidate the current affairs within the resigning government of Jean Max Bellerive. The Minister wrote to the outgoing Prime Minister, Jean Max Bellerive to inform him of her decision. Marie-Laurence Jocelyn Lassègue was at the head of the Ministry of Culture and Communication (MCC) since November 12, 2009.

She has also held numerous political positions before becoming Minister of Culture and Communication:

  • Minister of Information and Culture from February 1991 to August 1993

  • Secretary General of the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) in 1995

  • Member of the Cabinet of the Prime Minister Claudette WERLEIGH october 1995

  • Member of the Office of the President of the Republic, in April 1996 - April 2000

  • Chief of Staff to the Ministry for Women's Affairs and to the Rights of Women in March 2005 - June 2006

  • Minister for the Condition of Women and to the Women's Rights june 2006 - 2009

On June 28, Paul Denis, the Minister of Justice had also decided not to liquidate the current affairs, he had been replaced on an interim basis by Jean Max Bellerive.
