Haiti - USA : Special Envoy Foote returns to Washington after a meeting marathon

Over the weekend, Special Envoy Foote and U.S. Ambassador to Haiti Michele Sison met with Prime Minister Dr. Ariel Henry, Foreign Minister Claude Joseph, Minister of Justice Rockefeller Vincent, Haitian National Police Director General Léon Charles https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-34317-haiti-united-states-first-concrete-step-of-the-usa-on-security-in-haiti.html , Senate President Joseph Lambert https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-34330-haiti-news-zapping.html , civil society representatives, and UN BINUH Special Representative Helen Lalime and her team.

He discussed U.S. support for Haitian-led solutions to security and political challenges with a move towards elections as soon as feasible. Back in Washington, D.C., Foote will work with the U.S. Congress, the Haitian diaspora, and the international community to identify needs and resources and will return to Haiti in the near future for further consultations.
