Haiti - Olympics Tokyo 2020 : End of the Olympic dream for Haiti, our 6 athletes eliminated
As part of the XXXII edition of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, postponed to 2021 due to the Covid-19 pandemic, took place this Sunday the quarter-finals of the boxing events (men's middleweight) and the women's 100m hurdles half final.

BOXING :
At the Arena of Kokugikan in boxing 69-75 kg (middleweight, man), in 1/4 of finale, Darrelle VALSAINT Jr. (21) who had qualified by winning the victory 4-1 against Tshama Mwenekabwe David (24 years old) from the Democratic Republic of Congo https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-34348-haiti-olympics-2020-boxing-darrelle-valsaint-jr-qualified-swimming-davidson-vincent-eliminated.html faced Russian Gleb BAKSHI (25) in the ring. Despite all his energy and two warnings, Darnelle bowed to the Russian 5-0. A defeat that puts an end to our Haitian hope, for which the games of Tokyo 2020 will end.

ATHLETICS 100m hurdles women :
Mulern JEAN who participated in the 100m hurdles semi-final at the Olympic Stadium, in lane #2 finished 7th in series 2 with a time of 13 seconds and 09/100, lower than the time of 12 seconds and 99/100 which had qualified him for these semi-finals https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-34364-haiti-olympics-tokyo-2020-100m-hurdle-mulern-jean-qualified-for-the-semi-final.html . The best time of this semi-final was set by Puerto Rican Jasmine CAMACHO-QUINN with 12 seconds and 26/100. In the General classification Mulern JEAN finished 21st out of 22.

Only the first 2 runners of each series being qualified for the final, Mulern JEAN our 6th and last athlete of these games representing Haiti is eliminated.
