Haiti - Politic : Towards the establishment of a Forum of former Prime Ministers

Friday August 6, 2021, Prime Minister ai Ariel Henry, met, in person and by videoconference in his official residence, with several former Prime Ministers, with a view to the establishment of a Forum of former Heads of Government of the Republic.

Various files of national interest, such as the rule of law, the restoration of security, social support, the project of the new Constitution, the search for a political agreement with a view to peaceful governance and very broad consensus within the framework of the organization of the next elections, were on the agenda of the discussions in which took part the former First Ministres : Gérard Latortue, Jean Marie Chérestal, Jacques-Edouard Alexis, Evans Paul, Jack Guy Lafontant, Jean Max Bellerive, Joseph Jouthe, Enex Jean Charles and Laurent Lamothe.

At the end of this meeting, during a press briefing the former Prime Ministers Jean Marie Chérestal and Evans Paul welcomed the approach of Prime Minister Henry, to institute this structure of dialogue, debates and advice and agreed to work with the Prime Minister to help him find a common solution to the current crisis.
