Haiti - FLASH : Renowned academics offer a solution to end the crisis

Mandated by Quisqueya University to produce a reflection informed by constitutional law and political science on the situation posed by the sudden disappearance of President Jovenel Moïse and the absence of constitutional rules applicable to his succession, four renowned academics :

Bernard GOUSSE, jurist, dean of the Faculty of Legal and Political Sciences of Quisqueya University, holder of the Louis-Joseph-Janvier Chair on Constitutionalism at the same university;

Claude MOÏSE, historian, specialist in Haitian constitutional history, member of the Scientific Council of the Louis-Joseph-Janvier Chair on Constitutionalism;

Patrick PIERRE-LOUIS, jurist, professor of constitutional law and political philosophy at the State University of Haiti, member of the Scientific Council of the Louis-Joseph-Janvier Chair on Constitutionalism;

and Sonet SAINT-LOUIS, jurist, professor of constitutional law at the State University of Haiti,

bring their contribution to the formulation of a Haitian solution to the crisis. Their opinion is inspired by the spirit of the Constitution of 1987, the general principles governing a democratic State and takes into account the historical experience of our country.
