30 passengers hostage

On the night of August 22 to 23, 2021, a bus heading towards Port-de-Paix, carrying around thirty passengers was intercepted and hijacked by armed individuals, in the town of Gros-Morne (Artibonite department). Anse-à-Veau : Damage to historical heritage

Jean Emmanuel Jacquet the Minister of Culture visited the historical heritage of Anse-à-Veau affected by the earthquake, in particular the houses of the former Presidents from Nippes, Fabre Nicholas Geffrard and Sudre Philippe Dartiguenave. The Ministry has been alerted to the damage, for the necessary interventions through the Institute for the Protection of National Heritage (ISPAN) which has already made arrangements for an assessment of the built heritage.

Taiwan : 851 tonnes of rice distributed

Taiwanese aid was already in action in the disaster areas in the aftermath of the August 14 earthquake and more than 851 tonnes of rice have been distributed to date through its social emergency program partners, the Assistance Fund. Second aid plane from Venezuela

On Monday 23 August 2021, the Bolivarian Government of Venezuela sent by plane a second shipment of 30 tonnes of humanitarian aid (drinking water, non-perishable foodstuffs, blankets, mosquito nets, hammocks, diapers, personal hygiene kits, etc...) in solidarity with the brotherly people of Haiti announced the Interior Ministry of Venezuela.
