Haiti - Back to school : Set of accompanying measures planned
Monday, September 6 Marie Lucie Joseph, the Minister of National Education accompanied in particular by its Director General, Meniol Jeune, the Director of secondary education Maxime Mesilas and the Director of fundamental Thervil Pierrin, provided details on the actions envisaged by the State in order to support the educational community, especially parents, at the start of the 2021 school year.

In summary, it emerges that the State will be present with families in order to alleviate the burden of the start of the new school year : subsidy for schooling, provision of school books, school kits, uniforms, psycho-social support, teacher training. figure, among others, among the interventions planned by the Government, through the ministry, in order to support the educational agents and especially the parents who are decapitalized, explained the Minister Joseph.
In addition, the Minister indicated that the operations of demolition and clearing of school sites have started, in order to prepare the ground for the construction of temporary reception structures for the pupils. Adding that a meeting is scheduled this week with donors.
In addition, Marie Lucie Joseph insisted on the reminder of certain provisions concerning the governance of the education system, in particular of public schools. No authorization for the opening of new classrooms and/or new schools, the ban on outsourcing of lessons, the limitation of class sizes in public schools, in particular high schools of the Republic.
