Pétion-ville : Individuals shoot passers-by

On Wednesday October 6 in Pétion-Ville near the Don Bosco Church, unidentified armed individuals opened fire on passers-by, fatally affecting 2 people and causing several injuries before fleeing.

DR : More than 35,000 Haitians returned to Haiti in 1 month

25,052 Haitians have voluntarily chose to leave the Dominican Republic in September 2021 unable to adapt to Dominican life. In addition 2,740 Haitians in an irregular migratory situation on Dominican territory were repatriated to Haiti. The "Fanm Yo La" collective dismayed

The Haitian Feminist Collective for the Political Participation of Women (Fanm Yo La), says it is appalled by the appointment of 6 male magistrates to the Superior Council of the Judicial Power (CSPJ) on October 1, 2021 https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-34891-haiti-justice-oath-of-the-6-magistrates-completing-the-cspj.html, in flagrant violation of the Constitution of 1987, in particular in its article 17.1 which recognizes the principle of the quota of 30% women, in all decision-making positions in national life.

Migration : 661 Haitians arrested in DR in 48 hours

661 Haitians were apprehended during migration control, by the General Directorate of Migration (DGM) in the Dominican Republic, the past weekend. These Haitians were arrested in an irregular migratory situation in the provinces of Santo-Domingo Dajabón, Montecristi, Valverde, Santiago Rodríguez, San Pedro and La Romana. They have been transferred to accommodation centers and will be repatriated to Haiti.

NOTICE : public holiday and non-working day in Croix-des-Bouquets

By municipal decree, the day of October 7, 2021 is declared a statutory holiday on the occasion of Our Lady of the Rosary, Patron Saint of Croix-des-Bouquets. The doors of public, private and non-governmental institutions on the municipal territory will remain closed.
