Haiti - FAd’H : Towards the reorganization of the Aeronautical Corps of the Armed Forces of Haiti

The Ambassador of Haiti to the Kingdom of Spain Louis Marie Montfort Saintil, met last week, Lieutenant-Colonel Carlos Sanchez Bas of the General Secretariat of the Spanish Air Force, in the objective to explore avenues of collaboration between Haiti and Spain with regard to the reorganization of the Aeronautical Corps of the Armed Forces of Haiti (FAD'H).

This very first meeting with the authorities of the Spanish Ministry of Defense takes place at the request of the Haitian Air Force, with a view to strengthening the capacities of the competent bodies in terms of training, search and rescue at sea, coastal surveillance, piloting of aircraft, helicopter and drone technologies, among others...

Lieutenant-Colonel Sanchez Bas noted with interest the requests submitted relating to the implementation of the project and agreed to work jointly with the Haitian Government for the strengthening and sustainability of the cooperation links between the two countries, in areas of common interest.

Let's recall that the Haitian Air Force (official name Haitian Aviation Corps) was created in 1943 and dissolved in 1994. During its existence this Aviation Corps mainly had liaison and transport planes, and in the 1980s, a handful of S-211 type attack aircraft.
