This support is provided through the Disaster Relief and Containment Trust Fund (FFACC), which enables the IMF to provide grants to the poorest and most vulnerable countries affected by natural disaster or public health crisis. "This debt service relief helps free scarce financial resources for vital health, social and economic support to mitigate the impact of the covid-19 pandemic," IMF said The current cycle covers payments due until January 10, 2022, and the IMF has noted that depending on its resources, it could extend relief until April 13, 2022.
