Haiti - Social : A Haitian passport valid for 10 years, next year

Yesterday Wednesday, during a tour of various installations and services of Immigration and of the Emigration the President Michel Martelly has announced that his administration intends to take measures to modernize the institution, through the decentralization, announcing that "soon, we will be able to obtain a passport in the provincial towns."
Accompanied by Roland Chavannes, the Director General of the institution, the Head of State has indicated that the services of the Immigration and of th Emigration, are currently working on the possibility of increasing the validity of the Haitian passport from 5 to 10 years.
Roland Chavannes declared that he was satisfied of this visit and said that the passport valid for 10 years, could be a reality in the next fiscal year 2011-2012.
