To 1pm, this afternoon, the center of the Tropical Storm Emily was located to 17.8 degrees north and 72.8 degrees West. At 92 km South West Port-au-Prince (59 miles) with sustained winds (maximum) of 65 km/h (40 mph).

Emily is currently moving at 16 km/h (10 mph) along a trajectory west northwest. Currently the center of Emily is almost in front of Jacmel and perfectly aligned with the capital Port-au-Prince. Currently the center of Emily is located after Jacmel but it is still not entered on the land, it is aligned with the city of Petit-Goâve.

Strong winds blowing on Jacmel - The Bananas trees are down - One almond tree fell on the road of St-Cyr and the firefighters are intervened - The road of Savanette-Mirebalais is cut.

David Preux, head of mission for the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in the city of Jacmel, said that he expected conditions to worsen during the night. "The problem is when people wait until the last minute to evacuate."

It is reported a destroyed house in the town of Source and several others damaged as well as a Cholera Treatment Centre, but no victim reported, said Marie Alta Jean-Baptiste, Director of Civil Protection.

According to the National Meteorological Centre (CNM), the fact that Emily will move mostly on the water, the amount of rainfall on land will not be as big but can easily reach 100 to 150 millimeters and a lot more on the relief .

"Emily has a lot of heavy rainfall with it [...] in the mountainous areas, there could be very dangerous, life-threatening mudslides or flash floods" said Diana Goeller, a meteorologist with the U.S. National Hurricane Center.

According to the latest trajectory of the NOAA, the region from Les Cayes to Jacmel, from Jérémie to Léogâne, the island of the Gonâve and Mole Saint Nicolas should be be affected. This new trajectory, unlike the alignment on the capital this morning, will allow to Port-au-Prince, to escape the worst, but cannot avoid, [except new change of trajectory] the peripheral influences of the storm which are being felt up to 150 km from its center.

Following the current trajectory, Emily is located at:

56 km (35 mi) of Jacmel
71 km (44 mi) of Petit-Goâve
81 km (50 mi) of Léogâne
95 km (59 mi) of Port-au-Prince
109 km (68 mi) of Les Cayes
