Women called to impose themselves on the political scene

Wednesday Ms. Lisa François Coordinator of the Association Femmes en Démocratie during a workshop for women on participatory democracy, called on Haitian women to assert themselves on the political scene during the next electoral contests.

ADIH met with members of Congress

A delegation from the Association of Industries of Haiti (ADIH) met with representatives of the American Congress to continue the advocacy campaign for the renewal of the HOPE/HELP law which expires in September 2025. More than 58,000 jobs are created thanks to the textile sector in Haiti (data September 2021).

Vaccination b: Promise of the PM

While vaccination is a failure in Haiti 153,182 doses of vaccine injected in total in Haiti since July 16, 2021, date of the first injection and that 68,888 people are fully vaccinated (2 doses). Update 19 November 2021, latest data available. Prime Minister Ariel Henry promises to make millions of doses of vaccine available to the population to prevent Haiti from being isolated from the world (the vaccination record is becoming more and more compulsory for traveling around the world).

Binational dialogue between border town halls

As part of the project "Strengthening the binational dialogue between Haiti and the Dominican Republic to promote social cohesion in the border area", the International Organization for Migration (IOM-Haiti) organized, thanks to the support "United Nations Peacebuilding" a meeting between the border town halls of the North-East. This initiative aims to strengthen the binational dialogue between the Town Halls of the region on both sides of the border.

Installations of Ministers

Josué Pierre-Louis :

On Wednesday evening the former Minister of Justice Josué Pierre-Louis and Secretary General of the Council of Ministers was installed as Secretary General of the Presidency with the rank of Minister. He replaces Lyonel Valbrun in this position.

Dr Alex Larsen :

Thursday, November 21, the Minister of Tourism, Cassandra François proceeded to the installation of the new Minister of Public Health, Dr Alex Larsen. He replaces Dr. Marie Gréta Roy Clément in this position.

Odney Pierre Ricot :

Thursday afternoon, the Prime Minister, Ariel Henry, invested in his functions, the new Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Odney Pierre Ricot. The country is experiencing an extremely serious socio-economic situation. Thus, the Government undertakes to allocate, in the 21-22 budget, funds intended for the institutional capacity building program of the Ministry, to enable it to accomplish its noble mission in the community ”
