Haiti - FLASH : Carnage in a bus riddled with bullets by bandits

On Wednesday 1st December 2021 at Martissant 4, heavily armed men opened fire with automatic weapons on a bus heading for Carrefour with 38 passengers on board.

"It's carnage [...] a lady died instantly on the bus with a bullet in the head, the 12 other passengers received projectiles everywhere [...] I noticed 9 seriously injured passengers in the emergency room and three injured in the operating room," according to the observation of Justice of the Peace Moïse Jean at Diquini hospital where the victims were taken.

At Carrefour, the hospitals lack the means to take care of the victims and it was impossible to transfer the wounded to hospitals in Port-au-Priince because of the armed conflict between gangs in Martissant which has now lasted for 6 months...

In addition, the situation was very tense in the area of Cité Cabrit (Fontamara) stronghold of the Gang "Tibwa" which faced the gang of Grand Ravine which seeks to take control of its territory. Several bodies on land were reported by residents during the bloody clashes. According to testimonies, the clashes have left at least 3 dead and a dozen injured.
