Security officials immediately called for reinforcements to prevent another escape like the one that followed the February 25, 2021 mutiny organized to allow the escape of dangerous Gang Leader Arnel Joseph https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-33479-haiti-investigation-report-full-details-of-the-escape-from-the-prison-of-croix-des-bouquets-revealed.html . Automatic exchanges of fire inside the prison between law enforcement and armed prisoners created panic among the population around the penitentiary. There would be several injured including 2 police officers according to the town hall without further details... In the absence of an official record, one do not know whether any detainees managed to escape, where the weapons they had in their hands came from, the number of victims and the exact circumstances of the escape attempt.
