Supported by the Fondation de France, the Platform of Associations Franco-Haitian (PAFHA) establishes a program of training, of support and accompaniment to the associations in France and in Haiti.

The objective of this program is to allow to the associations Franco-Haitian and their partner organizations in Haiti to be able to develop and operate a project in Haiti. To seek funding and prepare grant applications. To develop a network of associations based on the sharing of experiences in France and Haiti.

In Haiti, this program will begin in late September and will offer the following modules:

• Legal and institutional framework of French associations act 1901 and that of the Haitian associations

• Training in project development "Successful its project : How to move from idea to project ?"

• Training on techniques of project management and financial management

• Meetings with the aim to share the experiences of the associations in relation with the Franco-Haitian associations

As part of this project, Mackendie Toupuissant, President of the PAFHA, and David Charles, Head of Mission will be in Haiti from August 17 to September 5, 2011. They will be responsible for organizing the training program and meet with various associations and institutions interested by the PAFHA and its training program. The objective of this mission will be to forge links between the various development actors in Haiti in relation to the Franco-Haitian associations to enable partnerships and make more effective action.

Finally, the delegation of the PAFHA will also meet with the Federation of Associations Franco-Haitian of Saint-Martin in order to expand the network of French associations of the Haitian diaspora.

The Platform of Associations Franco-Haitian (PAFHA) now brings together some 50 Franco-Haitian associations developing projects in Haiti and France in several sectors (education, training, construction, health, agriculture, etc.).. The objective of this platform is to bring together associations to allow firstly to pool the efforts of actors working on the same subjects and with the same objectives and, secondly, to strengthen the Franco-Haitian community through an organized network.
