While the Government cancels the National Carnival https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-35892-haiti-flash-the-government-cancels-the-national-carnival-2022-but.html Lucsonne Janvier, Mayor ai de Port-au-Prince held a press conference on Tuesday February 15 at the launch of the Port-au-Prince Communal Carnival which will take place on February 27, 28 and March 1, 2022 around the theme "Ann pote kole pou n sove tradisyon peyi n".

Lucsonne Janvier stressed that all arrangements will be made in concert with the police to guarantee the safety of festival-goers.

"The organization of the municipal carnival this year is part of a logic aimed at maintaining this tradition in the life of the Port-au-princiens," explained Jean Richard Joseph.

The parade route will be reduced this year. Departure from the Stade Sylvio Cator (rue Oswald Durand) via rue de la Réunion, then Rue des Casernes to finally return to the Stade Sylvio Cator.
