Haiti - D-1 : 24,378 candidates for the 1st session expected for the Bac Permanent exams
Friday February 18, 2022 at a press conference, Meniol Jeune, the Director General of the Ministry of National Education, Renan Michel the Director of the Departmental State Examinations Office (BUNEXE) and Miguel Fleurijean the Director of Secondary Education (DES), took stock of the holding of the first annual session of the permanent baccalaureate exams which will take place, from Monday February 21 to Thursday February 24, in the ten school departments of the country.

A total of 24,378 candidates from Traditional Secondary (Philo 5,424 candidates) and New Secondary (NS 19,954 candidates) are expected on Monday February 21 for the official exams for the 1st annual session of the permanent baccalaureate. Only failed candidates (who did not have the average) are eligible to participate in the tests.

Meniol Jeune, reminded the candidates that the marks of the subjects for which they had obtained their average were kept by the BUNEXE for 2 years. Beyond that, candidates will be obliged to redial for all subjects, in the event of a persistent situation.

Renan Michel took the opportunity to ask the candidates to respect the exam schedules but also to check with the supervisors, the subjects in which they will have to compose.

For his part, the Director of Secondary Education, Miguel Fleurijean guaranteed that the exam texts will be within the reach of the candidates, despite slight modifications of the items. Candidates will be able to pinpoint the difficulty levels of the proposed exam texts, he insists, while urging candidates to be smart, answering the simplest questions before tackling the more complicated ones.

Meniol Jeune called on the candidates to be responsible and to respect the instructions in order to avoid sanctions
