Haiti - Football : Attacker Jonel Désiré temporarily suspends his international career

International attacker Jonel Désiré (25), former player of AS Mirebalais (his hometown), who currently plays for "Football Club Urartu" in Armenia, has announced a temporary stoppage of his international career for personal reasons, after playing 21 games for the Haitian national team.

In a message posted on his facebook account he writes "The last 5 years have been incredible for me because I was constantly invited to the national team. During this period, I lived incredible moments and I gained incredible experience with my compatriots.

Today I am devastated to announce that I have to stop my performances with the national team for the upcoming period due to personal issues.

I am sad that I cannot help my teammates and play for my country, but there is no other option at the moment.

I am grateful to all the members of the FHF, the team and the country who have supported me and I hope to be back in the future.

I wish good luck to my country and I will support my teammates in all matches.

Big hugs,

your Jonel Desire."
