In a message posted on his facebook account he writes "The last 5 years have been incredible for me because I was constantly invited to the national team. During this period, I lived incredible moments and I gained incredible experience with my compatriots. Today I am devastated to announce that I have to stop my performances with the national team for the upcoming period due to personal issues. I am sad that I cannot help my teammates and play for my country, but there is no other option at the moment. I am grateful to all the members of the FHF, the team and the country who have supported me and I hope to be back in the future.
