On Sunday, back from Chile, Prime Minister Ariel Henry, who attended the inauguration of the new President-elect Gabriel Boric, during a press briefing at the Diplomatic Lounge at the Toussaint Louverture International Airport, quickly gave an update on his official trip

Henry said he had important bilateral meetings with various Heads of State and Government including His Majesty King Felipe VI of Spain, with whom he discussed among other things, investments, culture and situation of insecurity prevailing in Haiti, affirming "[...] Several Heads of State and Government have pledged to provide assistance to Haiti to fight against insecurity" without giving the slightest indication on the countries concerned or on the form what could this help take. He only indicated that "[...] things are being organized to provide assistance to the country in the coming days."

He also informed that he had had talks with the Haitian community, strong of some 170,000 members. "We had discussions. They asked for things from the Haitian State, especially the legal documents necessary to be able to live in Chile. We talked about the future" and promised to have better interaction with the Haitian diaspora in Chile, particularly at the level of public administration.
