Haiti - FLASH : Flood alert
On Friday March 25, 2022, the General Directorate of Civil Protection (DPC), the Hydro-Meteorological Unit (UHM) of Haiti and the Permanent Secretariat for Risk and Disaster Management (SPGRD) informed the population, in particular those of the department in the far North of Haiti, of the risk of heavy rains throughout the country from Saturday March 26 due to the passage of a cold front crossing Haiti, a situation which may last until Wednesday March 30.

These rains can cause significant damage such as landslides and floods in several departments. This situation can endanger the lives of people and their property, mainly people living in the departments of North, North-East, West and South who may be under the threat of flooding throughout the end week.

The DPC urges all people living in vulnerable areas to remain vigilant to floods and landslides and to take safety precautions in the event of heavy rains, thunderstorms and strong winds.
