Haiti - FLASH : DR deploys an impressive military device at the border

Following the kidnapping Friday, of the Dominican diplomat Carlos Guillén Tatis, in Croix-des-Bouquets, by the gang "400 Mawozo" https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-36562-haiti-dr-a-kidnapped-dominican-diplomat-the-400-mawozogang-demands-500-000-us$-for-his-release.html the Dominican Government [which seems exasperated by the situation of armed gangs in Haiti] has deployed an impressive military force along of the border.

The army mobilized soldiers from the hunter corps in Dajabón; militares of the "special commandos" in Jimaní; soldiers of the elite corps "Los Cimarrones" in Pedernales.

3 helicopters and a surveillance aircraft were deployed to carry out aerial patrols at the four main border points with Haiti, as well as V150 armored assault vehicles, RM tanks. 105/26 Reynosa guns were seen in Jimaní...

One do not know the objective of such a device which seems to be more a message addressed to gangs in Haiti, not to try to venture into Dominican territory.

A high-level Dominican Government source assures that contact with the Haitian Government is maintained and that the Dominican Government is ready to work in coordination with the Haitian authorities for the release of Guillén Tatis.

However, there is nothing that suggest that the Dominicans are considering a military operation to free the diplomat, especially since it is unlikely that the Haitian government will authorize the Dominican armed forces to intervene on Haitian territory.

Moreover, the Dominican authorities neither confirm nor deny the ransom demand of US$500,000 from the "400 Wawoso" gang for the release of Guillén Tatis.
