Haiti - Politic : Edouard Paultre of CONHANE met President Martelly
Edouard Paultre, Responsible of the Haitian Council of Non State Actors (CONHANE) met Wednesday the members of the Office of the President and the President Michel Martelly.

"...the President found it necessary to meet us [...] on the urgency to equip the country with a government and to resolve the issue of the amendment of the Constitution [...] there are elections to renew one third of the Senate to be held by the end of the year, [...] to make these elections, we need a Permanent Electoral Council, the Council is provided in the constitutional amendments, to it is really necessary that he [the President] makes a Permanent Electoral Council, that he names the Supreme Council of the Judiciary (CSPJ), that he Complete the Court of Cassation in order to give a stability to form the government and a stability to the country.

Now, what concerns us greatly is that there is a wave of insecurity throughout the country, there are tendencies to anarchy everywhere [...] today, we wish that he take decisions quickly to equip the country with a government, because it is true that Mr. Martelly is elected, he has not yet the lever of power to his disposal.

We did this first consultation with the Presidency, and in front of us, the President Martelly gave instructions to his cabinet to go in this direction [...] We want to believe, that maybe in one week, we will arrive to understand all the dynamics, to give to the country the institutions it deserves.

Soon, we will meet the Bureau of the Senate and the Chamber of Deputies, a way for us to move things forward, because right now, according to us, it is essential that the decision makers put the general interests above all the interests of parties, personal and of groups..."
