Haiti - News : Zapping...
The Embassy of Spain in Haiti, in collaboration with the AfricAmericA Foundation and the Association of Artists and Craftsmen of Croix-des-Bouquets (ADAAC) and in solidarity with the artists and craftsmen of Noailles, organizes the Art and Crafts Fair of the Village of Noailles, which will take place on May 17 and 18, 2022 at the NH El Rancho hotel. Emmelie Prophet the Minister of Culture, will inaugurate this fair jointly with the Ambassador of Spain, Sergio Cuesta, in the presence of Prime Minister a.i. Ariel Henry.
Launch of the 2022-2023 budget preparation process
At the beginning of the week, Michel Patrick Boivert launched the process of drawing up the budget for the 2022-2023 financial year in the presence of representatives of the General Directorate of Taxes, the Ministry of Planning, the General Administration of Customs and the Haitian Institute of Statistics and Informatics in order to provide the country according to the prescriptions of the Constitution, with a new budget on October 1st, the date of the beginning of the new fiscal year.
PM and Montana Accord:
On May 15, Acting Prime Minister Ariel Henry met for the second time with Magali Comeau Denis, one of the leaders of the Montana Accord. A document containing the modalities of the negotiation process has been submitted to the Prime Minister for confirmation or to make changes. The Monatan team is giving itself 15 days to reach an agreement on the negotiation process.

The Consulate General of Haiti in Paris informs the Haitian community that its doors will be closed exceptionally on the occasion of the Flag and University Day, Wednesday, May 18, 2022.
USA : advocacy for the renewal of the HOPE HELP law
As part of the advocacy campaign for the renewal of the HOPE HELP law, a new mixed delegation (public-private) went to Washington D.C. It was made up of Ms. Joan Dithny Raton, Special Labor Mediator, Georges Sassine and Lionel Delatour, Representatives of the Association of Industries of Haiti (ADIH), David Mompoint of the Ministry of Economy and Finance and James Monazard, of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
