Haiti - Insecurity : The PNH promises more security to buses to or from Dom. Republic
Following the diversion of buses and their passengers from the Dominican company Metro Tours and Haitian Capital Coach Line and the temporary suspension of passenger service from the island's 3 main passenger transport companies https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-36665-haiti-flash-caribe-tours-metro-tours-and-capital-coach-suspend-their-operations-to-haiti.html , the National Police of Haiti (PNH), announces that to avoid the reproduction of such incidents, the police will be more present on the passenger transport route normally used by companies offering services to and from the Dominican Republic.

According to unofficial sources, there will be more patrols, especially on the roads of the commune of Croix-des-Bouquets, where there is a strong presence of the "400 Mawozo" gang. In addition, surveillance operations would be carried out on the roads that give access to the Dominican border municipalities of Elías Piña and Jimaní,

Let's recall that if the passengers of the Haitian company Capital Coach Line were released by the PNH and the bus recovered https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-36656-haiti-news-zapping.html , the fate of Metro Tours passengers is still in the hands of the kidnappers with the exception of the American-Dominican driver who was released under pressure from the Dominicans and the FBI, without payment of a ransom.

Pending the implementation and confirmation of its measures, Metro Tours, Caribe Tours and Capital Coach Line maintain suspended their transport services until safety is guaranteed when transporting passengers to and from Haiti and the Dominican Republic.
