Haiti - NOTICE : Call rate per minute, clarification note

Following the excerpt from an exchange between a customer and a Digicel customer service agent, which has been circulating on social networks since Sunday, May 29, with particular emphasis on the cost of communication of 16.5 HTG per minute for any call, Digicel wishes to specify the following:

"[...] the cost of the call per minute is on average 1.3 HTG but the price of a call made from the main account, which represents less than 4% of the total calls placed by customers, is actually at 16.5 HTG.

Digicel offers all types of plans to its customers for their specific needs; today more than 96% of calls are made through the various plans. A customer can purchase a 9 HTG plan for 6 minutes just as he can also decide to purchase a 65 HTG plan for unlimited calls for the day as well as weekly and monthly plans.

Always in our concern to give more value and to offer more flexibility to our subscribers, we introduced in the week of May 23 voice plans at less than 50 centimes of gourde per minute to address the needs of the exchanges modest.

We remind you that when a plan expires, the customer receives a notification and he can very well reactivate a plan, the use of the main account being only the ultimate option. As usual we remain open and ready to answer any potential questions."
