The targeted sector of gangs
According to figures communicated by the Unified Movement of Haitian Transporters (MUTH) over the past 18 months, about 50 drivers and trade unionists have been kidnapped, 25 murdered and 102 others injured. In addition, more than 310 vehicles were hijacked, looted or burned by armed bandits.

41 Democratic congressmen hold the US accountable
In a letter to Samantha Power, Administrator of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), 41 Democratic congresswomen said they believed there was an urgent need for the U.S. government "[...] to take action on the food aid arriving in Haiti and U.S. food aid policy more broadly," noting "While this is currently the result of the domestic situation in Haiti and lower than expected humanitarian food aid, historic policy of the United States also contributed to the problem and we have a moral responsibility to solve it"
