Arrested on March 25, 2022, in Delmas by the Central Directorate of Judicial Police (DCPJ), "Rick" (fictitious name assumed to preserve the anonymity of the minor) is a "child soldier" member of a gang.

Aged only 16, "Rick" was in the 9th fundamental year before abandoning school and the family roof to become one of the members of the "5 Secondes" Gang led by "Izo", one of the Chiefs of the most fearsome operating in Village de Dieu. However, Rick never lived in Village de Dieu before joining this gang.

Like several other minors recruited by the gang, he was taught the use of weapons of war such as M4 and Kalashnikov assault rifles. He admits to having taken an active part in bloody wars between rival gangs for control of the southern outskirts of Port-au-Prince.
