At least 200 kidnappings in 1 month
At least 200 cases of kidnappings have been recorded in Haiti for the month of May revealed Friday, June 3rd Stephan Dujarric spokesperson for the Secretary General of the UN. UN organizations also denounce the negative impact of violence maintained by armed gangs on the distribution of humanitarian aid.

Martissant : 4 people shot dead, including a baby
At least four people, including a baby, were shot dead during clashes between armed gangs in Martissant and Fontamara over the past weekend, according to testimonies from local residents.

Bassin Bleu : 4 people kidnapped, including a priest

The Dominican Minister of the Environment shot dead
Monday, June 6, Orlando Jorge Mera, the Dominican Minister of the Environment, Orlando Jorge Mera, was assassinated by several bullets in his office. Miguel Cruz, the assassin of the Minister, a very close personal friend of the victim, was arrested. The motives for this crime are unknown.
