Haiti - FLASH : 6 members of the Haitian delegation missing at the Special Olympics (Florida)

6 members of the Haitian delegation who participated in the United States Special Olympics from June 5 to 12, 2022 in Kissimmee, south of Orlando, Florida, alongside 5,500 athletes and coaches from 50 states and the Caribbean, are missing.

The Osceola County Sheriff's Office is investigating the disappearance of members of the Haitian football delegation of which 5 of them are not athletes and only one is an adult player with an intellectual disability according to a press release from the "Special Olympics USA Games”.

Missing persons from the Haitian delegation :

Actione Joseph Mithon (32 years old);

Nicholson Fontilus (20);

Peter Mianovich Berlus (19);

Anderson Little Brother (18);

Stevenson Jacquet (24 years old);

Oriol Jean (18 years old).

They were last seen Monday, June 6, 2022 at 710 S. Victory Way in Kissimmee around 2:30 p.m. According to the sheriff's office, the six men returned their room keys and left behind their bags and personal effects.

Local authorities said they had no reason to believe the health and safety of these people was at risk. To expand the reach and effectiveness of law enforcement search efforts in locating these individuals, they have been reported as missing persons.

No foul play is suspected and this is an isolated event, the sheriff's office said.
