Haiti - FLASH : The «Izo» gang kidnaps 38 passengers and the drivers of 2 minibuses (Video)

Friday, June 10, heavily armed men from the "5 seconds" gang led by the fearsome Chief "Izo" of Village de Dieu, took 38 people hostage (36 passengers and 2 drivers) who were in 2 minibuses at the station, near the police station around 11 a.m., who were preparing to go to Miragoâne (100km west of Port-au-Prince), confirmed Méhu Changeux, President of the Association of Owners and Drivers of Haiti (APCH).

According to a video, the gang leader "Izo" hooded and with bulletproof vest said that this kidnapping is in response to the death of one of his men Elvain Saint-Jacques alias "Zo Pwason" coldly executed by Jean Ernst Muscadin, Commissioner of the Government of Miragoâne, whom he asks to come in person to recover the hostages…

"[...] As commissioner, you kill innocent people in Miragoâne [...] And if I did the same? I have passengers in both vehicles. Muscadin, tell me what time are you coming to pick them up ? I'm waiting for you ".

Let's recall that the government commissioner Muscadin assumed the extrajudicial execution of Elvain Saint-Jacques and declared "As long as I am government commissioner, the city of Miragoâne will remain a cemetery for bandits". Berto Dorcé, the Minister of Justice calls for Muscadin's dismissal and legal proceedings while thousands of people demonstrated in Miragoâne to express their support for Commissioner Muscadin, considered the "justiciar" and warned against any possible dismissal of the Government Commissioner, whose he salutes the radical action he is leading against the bandits : "Si Muscadin ale, n ap mete dife", "Muscadin se papa nou", chanted his supporters among others.
