Haiti - Politic : Launch of the Certification Program for drinking water packaged in bottles

The Ministry of Trade and Industry (MCI), via the Haitian Bureau of Standardization (BHN), launched the certification program "Drinking Water Packaged in Bottles".

This program, which constitutes a major step forward in the establishment of quality infrastructure in Haiti, aims to provide a normative framework for the drinking water sector, a vital and strategic sector for Haiti.

James Monazard, the Director General of MCI praised the efforts of the BHN to provide the country with a quality infrastructure worthy of the name. He also called on the private business sector to take advantage of certification programs as they develop.

Monorde Civil, Director General of BHN, underlined the importance of certification for national trade insisting "Businesses, like consumers, have a lot to gain."

In addition, he recalled that in 10 years of existence, the BHN has touched all the elements related to quality infrastructure, namely : metrology, standardization and certification.
