Haiti - Football : This afternoon at the Stade Sylvio Cator, Haiti - U.S. Virgin Islands 02/09/2011 12:16:34 This afternoon to 4pm the men's national football team will meet, at the Stade Sylvio Cator in Port-au-Prince, his counterpart from the U.S. Virgin Islands, as part of the qualifiers for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil in the CONCACAF zone. Many expatriate players from Europe, U.S. and South America will be present, the Grenadiers are led by Brazilian coach Edson Tavares. After this match the Haitian team will continue its long way in Group F, the team will travel to Curacao on September 6 and will also play against Antigua and Barbuda. Group F is composed of Haiti, Antigua and Barbuda, Curacao, U.S. Virgin Islands. The winning team from each group will have access the third round, if Haiti is the winner of Group F, the Grenadiers will face the United States, Jamaica and the winner of Group E which can be either Grenada, Guatemala, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines or the Belize. Currently the Head of State, Michel Martelly, pays a visit to the players of the national team prior to the encounter of this afternoon. After attending a working session under the supervision of technical managers in the Plaza Hotel, the Head of State assured the players of his full support and confidence in their ability to qualify for the next World Cup, he ensured them that his presidency will do everything that is necessary, at his level, to support their efforts.
