While the Bank of the Republic of Haiti (BRH) displays this Wednesday, July 20, 2022, 115.02 Gourdes for one US dollar; the US dollar is exchanged at more than 135 Gourdes on the informal market and up to 140 Gourdes in several shops in the metropolitan area.

Artibonite : Gang war, at least 11 dead

The partial assessment of the clashes between two armed gangs in Petite Rivière de l'Artibonite : the gang of Savien "Grand Grif" to that of "Ti contempt" in Jean Denis is at least 11 people killed and many injured, several houses have been destroyed.

Kidnapping : 45% increase in 3 months

The Center for Analysis and Research in Human Rights (CARDH) identified 326 cases of kidnapping during the 2nd quarter of 2022 (including 36 foreigners from 9 countries) against 225 cases for the first 3 months of the year, i.e. a up 44.8% quarter over quarter.

The UEH does not recognize the new Dean of the School of Law

The rectorate of the State University of Haiti (UEH) claims not to recognize the new deanship of the School of Law and Economics of Gonaïves "[...] The new deanship is illegal. CFI : Prospecting in the Great North

From July 4 to 14, Marie Fatima Léonne C. Prohète, General Manager of the Investment Facility Center (CFI) accompanied by her team, and members of the Consortium, DMI-Business France and Interconsultants, carried out a prospecting mission in the Great North. The purpose of this mission was to strengthen relations with public and private institutions, to ensure better visibility of the CFI and to announce the upcoming opening of an office in the North.

Earthquake and flood simulation exercise

On July 21 and 22, 2022, an earthquake and flood simulation exercise (SIMEX) will be organized in Cap Haitien and Fort Liberté in order to raise awareness on how to behave faced natural disasters.
