Haiti - Politic : Special meeting on Haiti of the CARICOM, many words but nothing concrete 22/08/2022 09:29:30
Ralph Gonsalves, Prime Minister of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, who serves as the rotating President of CARICOM said the meeting provided regional leaders with an opportunity to discuss and brief Haitian Prime Minister Ariel Henry, decisions taken at the CARICOM summit in Suriname last month. He said that although a decision has been made for a technical mission led by CARICOM to go to Port-au-Prince https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-37134-haiti-politic-caricom-will-send-a-delegation-to-haiti.html for interviews with all stakeholders, no date had yet been finalized, although Prime Minister Henry reiterated that he "wants CARICOM to be very involved." Gonsalves said plans were also being made for a meeting to be held in Nassau, Bahamas after the technical mission to Haiti. This meeting should bring together stakeholders from Haiti, the African Union, French-speaking countries, as well as the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) and the Organization of American States (OAS)...
