Tuesday, September 20, 2022, at the Champ de Mars, in Port-au-Prince, the day of the commemoration of the 264th anniversary of the birth of Jean-Jacques Dessalines, individuals without culture and without respect, covered with rubbish the statue of Jean-Jacques Dessalines , revered leader of independence and one of the founding fathers of our Nation.

These individuals proudly justifying this act of vandalism as an action part of their protest movement against the Government of Prime Minister ai Ariel Henry.

Several witnesses described this act as "desecration". Others did not hesitate to make responsible for this odious acts, activists who would be, according to them, close to the political party "Ayiti An Aksyon" (AAA), of the former senator Youri Latortue.
