This demonstrates the commitment of the Minustah to continue to support the Haitian authorities in strengthening the rule of law." This new building, costing a total of $USD46,029 as been funded by the Minustah within the framework of ts Quick Impact Projects (QIP). It has two offices for the judges, an office for the clerks, a secretariat, a room for archives, a custody room, a jury room, a room for the objects seized, a large room of about 100 places for hearings and a toilet block. The old ruined building, which housed the hearings, is a distant memory for the Mayor indicating that the justice will regain "a new breath because now, our judges will be able exercise their duties under better conditions". A statement, shared by Josias Talabert, the judge of the town, who sees in this new construction "...a new beginning for the strengthening of justice in this town [...] We will do everything to make justice accessible to all citizens of the town, and the new Court of Peace is an important means."
