In addition, a special forces detachment for crisis situations has been added to the 12,000 soldiers already deployed along the border. "Tension is high in Haiti, Port-au-Prince and has become a 'no man's land'," said a military authority explaining, "The movement of soldiers and military equipment is a preventive measure applicable by the armed corps, to be prepared for all eventualities [...] Whenever there are convulsions [in Haiti] there is more preparation here [...] we are ready for anything." The crisis is increasingly complex and "explosive" forces the Dominican army to strengthen its presence at the border.
