Haiti - Culture : Nono Battesti dancer, professional choreographer in Haiti for a spectacle

Nono Battesti, dancer, professional choreographertrained in Europe to the hip-hop, jazz, contemporary dance of Haitian origin living in Belgium will be in Haiti to give a dance performance entitled "sources" at the room FOKAL-Unesco of the Foundation knowledge and freedom (FOKAL) this Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at 6pm. A second performance of "Sources" will be held September 20 to "Artcho Danse". The coming of Nono Battesti in Haiti was made possible through the collaboration of the French Institute in Haiti in partnership with the Ministry of Culture and Communication, "Wallonie-Bruxelles International" and the Fokal.

Today, Nono Battesti (21), Haitian of origin, is built a solid reputation in the dance community in Europe. He has already developed several choreographic creations with his company [La Compagnie Dessources], including "Trip Tik", "Kelevra", "Les gardiens", and "Sources" that he will present as part of his stay in Haiti.

In 2011, Nono Battesti toured in Belgium for over 85 performances with this last show. Belgian criticism about the show are glowing and unanimous "A beautiful duet accomplice, unusual and contrasting," "A stunning mix of hip hop and accordion", "A show as magical as innovative. A master stroke that has everything to convince beyond the contemporary dance fans."

In this creation, Nono Battesti proposes us a trio with Didier Leloy, accordionist and Géraldine Battesti (aka Dyna B.) to dance and chant. Diatonic mixture between hip-hop and accordion, "Sources" talks about the course of adoption of a brother and a sister, coming from Haiti and who will create new emotional ties with a new family. True story experienced by the choreographer and his sister who give us their stories on stage, with skill and modesty.

In addition, Nono Battesti will host a hip hop dance workshop on 13 and 14 September to FOKAL.

To attend the spectacle "Sources" in the room FOKAL-Unesco, withdraw for free your tickets at the French Institute in Haiti and FOKAL during office hours (9 am-4 pm).
