Haiti - FLASH : The first new armored vehicles for the PNH have arrived

On Saturday, October 15, US and Canadian military aircraft arrived in Port-au-Prince to transfer important security equipment purchased by the Government of Haiti, including tactical and armored vehicles, and supplies to the Director General of the National Police of Haiti (PNH). The delivery of the equipment was part of a joint operation involving aircraft from the United States Air Force and the Royal Canadian Air Force.

A Canadian Armed Forces Boeing C-17A Globemaster III aircraft arrived in Haiti on Saturday, delivering the first four new armored vehicles for the Haitian National Police of the 18 ordered and paid last summer by the Haitian government to a company based in Canada.

The United States and Canada commend the international community for mobilizing new commitments to meet Haiti's most urgent needs, and urge international partners to honor these commitments and encourage them to contribute to the United Nations Common Fund for restore peace and citizen security for the Haitian people.
