Haiti - Social : Bishop Pierre-André Dumas in favor of a «Marshall plan»
Mgr Pierre-André Dumas, the bishop of Anse-à-Veau and Miragôane recently declared that the situation in Haiti is "terrible, catastrophic". Speaking of the situation in which the Haitian people find themselves, in great despair, and forced to find food, sometimes by looting certain warehouses, he supports "There is a lot of anarchy, chaos, violence".

"We really need to be accompanied, by some assistance, not by an occupation but by international aid to at least get out of this situation of total blockage of the population which is almost taken hostage," advocates Bishop Pierre-André Dumas, also according to him "the Haitian people are threatened with extinction."

The bishop says he is in favor of a "Marshall plan" which does not impose a model from outside but which would promote solutions coming from the Haitians themselves in the perspective of integral human development.
