Haiti - FLASH : A Divisional Police Inspector arrested for ammunition trafficking

On the night of Friday November 11, 2022, as part of a shadowing operation in Morne à Cabrit, the Intervention and Research Brigade (BRI) arrested Pierre Wakin, Divisional Police Inspector.

He was returning from Belladère driving a white Toyota Land Cruise vehicle, registered SE-00315.

During the search of the vehicle, BRI officers seized:

4,000 5.56 caliber rounds
41 9mm caliber cartridges
3 Glock 9mm Pistol Magazines
1 9 mm caliber pistol, Model Glock 19, LML 879 series
2 cell phones
A sum of 934,500 Gdes

Following his hearing, Pierre Wakin was placed in police custody at the Central Directorate of Judicial Police (DCPJ) pending the outcome of the procedure. He is accused of illicit trafficking in ammunition and association of criminals.
